MOVING ON ! =)

Helloooo everyone!!!

Well, I don't really know where to begin except that the last couple months have been extremely busy and productive. I have really learned a lot about myself in my career search process and have also learned a great deal about corporate America, interviewing, and all that other good stuff.

While AT&T (formerly SBC) is a huge company with a lot of potential, it is not the right place for me. It is too large and bureaucratic and I need to work at a place where I believe in the company, the people, and am constantly stimulated creatively. Although while at AT&T I have learned a great deal about management and leadership and have met some really great people in my leadership program, I have decided to leave and develop myself in a different way.

Sooooo starting May 30th, I move onto my new life.... at...... Google!!!! =) I am really very excited and while I wavered back and forth a little bit about taking the offer, I realized that it was definitely the right move for me. I put in my 2 weeks notice and already feel energized and a lot happier with my life because I think I am going in the right direction. NY is going to be put on hold for a bit, but who knows, maybe I can transfer to the Google branch over there! Whatever the case, this process has been a great learning experience for me and this is part of my development as a person.

I still am not 100% sure where this is going, but I have a better idea and the most important that I have learned is that you need to be true to yourself. Whatever kind of situation you are put in, be true to yourself and listen to your heart. Sometimes the mind is too tricky! hehe=)

Anyway, thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me along the way, been there to listen to me when I had a bad day or just talked to me about nothing...I really appreciate it and love you all for being so wonderful.  I am so lucky to have an opportunity to work at as wonderful a company as Google, and I really cannot wait to begin!

So I think my life is on track, turning another direction and I am excited to see what happens next. I feel more like myself now=). heeheeeee

SMILES everyone. Do what makes you happy and don't be afraid of taking those risks.

CHANGES

Well,
I was going to post a pretty picture but have not updated my Netscape browser so the picture uploading tool is not enabled so thus I cannot...so bear with all this text please.

All right, a lot has been going on so let me debrief everyone on my life for the past month or so. I went to Vegas with Kirby and Christina and some other girls a couple weekends ago and that was a very wild and crazy weekend! Hah, no it was not scandalous or anything, but it was very eventful and I have many many interesting stories to dish out. So WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS...BUT if you want to take me out to a nice dinner I will be happy to tell you the weekend's happenings=) haha.

Besides that I am still doing my career search. While it isn't entirely complete yet, nor will ever really be complete as each stage in life brings about something new, I am getting there slowly. I am still not quite happy where I am with my current job and don't think I will be. I have gained a lot of valuable experience doing what I am doing, and refined skills that will be with me for the rest of my life, BUT it's not enough. I need something that gets my mind going, gets the creative juices flowing, and something that makes me feel alive inside. I will keep you all posted on what happens...

Other than that, I want the rain to stop so that I can see the sun and get more tan...i am pretty pasty white and it is not pretty. I was planning on taking a trip to Paris in May, but those plans have to be held back as there is too much going on right now and the plane tickets are so $$$$!!! PLUS if i go to Paris, I will be spending a lot of money due to the EURO, yummy food, and SHOPPING...sooooo I will go a little later=)

OH and funny story:
On a random night sitting on the couch and watching TV with my dad. A snickers commercial comes on TV:
Dad: Snickers is the best candy bar in the world
Me: haha ok dad. You never even eat it!
Dad: No, I will. It really is the best candy bar.
Me: haha ok (I say not thinking anything of it)

NEXT DAY
Dad enters the house with a big box of 48 snickers bars from Costco AND crab.
Me: WHOA, dad, what did you buy?
Dad: Snickers
Me: I thought one would be enough?? Why did you buy so many?
Dad: I don't know, I love snickers!
Me: hahahahaa, and you bought crab??
Dad: yes, it's for dinner tonight.
Me: ok...you have to let me have some of your snickers!
Dad: Noooooooo
Me: Dad, seriously, you are going to eat all 48 by yourself...???
Dad: Yes!

hahahaha....my dad is funny. and what throws me off is that he is always the more health conscious one, yet the biggest junk food eater ever! he is always snacking on something...but then he exercises regularly and eats healthy otherwise so I guess it's ok! hah. OH and i took one of his snickers bars...like he will be able to tell!! =)

Ok that's it! I am done babbling...

I have decided to post some picture every time I post because it looks more interesting and its prettier=) hehe here is a pic of the eiffel tower (obviously) when I was in Paris. Me and stephanie used to always walk around downtown during the day and at night and take pictures of everything. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing and gave me good perspective about life.

Besides that, I am going to use this entry to give some quotes that I came across in my reading that I found particularly interesting:
"The clearer your vision of what you seek, the closer you are to finding it." - Richard Bolles

"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances..." - Victor Frankl

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost

Take what you want from these quotes. I know I took away some good points.
